Present and future diurnal hourly precipitation in 0.11° EURO-CORDEX models and at convection-permitting resolution

چکیده
Abstract The diurnal cycle of precipitation (DCP) is a core mode variability in regions and seasons where the dominant type convective. occurrence extreme often closely linked to DCP. Future changes may furthermore, certain regions, exhibit strong signal. Here we investigate present future hourly state-of-the-art 0.11°C EURO-CORDEX (EC-11) ensemble convection-permitting model (CPM), with focus on extremes. For climate, long-standing timing frequency biases DCP found lower-resolution models persist EC-11 ensemble. In CPM, however, these are largely absent, particularly distribution extremes, which misrepresents. precipitation, find clear signals CPM models, high regional intra-ensemble variability. signal typically peaks morning. Interestingly, mean shows reasonable agreement signal’s timing, showing that this feature representable by parametrized convection. Comparison suggests greatly underestimate amplitude Our study highlights advantages CPMs for investigating change at scale, while also capable detecting change.

Comparison of the Diurnal Precipitation Cycle in Convection-Resolving and Non-Convection-Resolving Mesoscale Models
The diurnal cycles of rainfall in 5-km grid-spacing convection-resolving and 22-km grid-spacing nonconvectionresolving configurations of the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model are compared to see if significant improvements can be obtained by using fine enough grid spacing to explicitly resolve convection. Diurnally averaged Hovmöller diagrams, spatial correlation coefficients compute...
متن کاملDaily precipitation statistics in a EURO-CORDEX RCM ensemble: Added value of raw and bias-corrected high-resolution simulations
Daily precipitation statistics as simulated by the ERA-Interimdriven EURO-CORDEX regional climate model (RCM) ensemble are evaluated over two distinct regions of the European continent, namely the European Alps and Spain. The potential added value of the high-resolution 12 km experiments with respect to their 50 km resolution counterparts is investigated. The statistics considered consist of we...

Rabies in Iran: Past, Present and Future
Introduction : Rabies is a disease that has been known since antiquity. It is a highly fatal acute disease of the central nervous system caused by a lyssavirus. Prior to the discovery of the rabies vaccine, rabies-infected individuals fell victim to the delusions and superstitions associated with this disease. Though it has been neglected in many regions of the world, rabies remains one ...
